We will be welcoming the start of spring with a ride to Astoria to tour the museum dedicated to Japanese-American sculpture artist and activist, Isamu Noguchi.
We will meet at Sun and Air at 10:30am, wheels down at 10:50am. The museum opens at 11am. Please bring money - general admission is $10 or $5 with a student ID.
This is a social ride, helmets are required, FTW/GNC-NB identifying folks only. No drop.
After the museum, we will ride into lower Manhattan to visit the Sunken Garden, a sub-terranian water garden with Japanese stones Noguchi designed in the early 60s.
Below is info on the artist and a link to the Admissions page on the website.
Hope you can join us!
Isamu Noguchi was one of the twentieth century’s most important and critically acclaimed sculptors. Through a lifetime of artistic experimentation, he created sculptures, gardens, furniture and lighting designs, ceramics, architecture, and set designs. His work, at once subtle and bold, traditional and modern, set a new standard for the reintegration of the arts.
